What will you learn?

Over the course of 3 foundational modules, you will be given the techniques that behavioural scientists really use. Our advanced course adds 2 further modules.

Why did we make this course?

Colleagues across several industries, teams and levels told us that behavioural science training would be interesting and useful – but what exists doesn’t give them what they actually want.

They overwhelm you with theory you won’t need and endless frameworks that no-one ever actually uses. You can’t use what you learn to reach your goals.

Having already professionally trained teams and launched behavioural science units, we built something that gives you what behavioural scientists actually do in practice, from start to finish. We strip away all the filler and give you what you can actually use in your job.

The Behavioural Science Company MODULE 1: UNDERSTANDING LIKE A BEHAVIOURAL SCIENTIST
Module 1: Understanding Like a Behavioural Scientist

Using behavioural science to truly get under the skin of the challenges your business faces

•Behaviour mapping: viewing your challenge through a behavioural lens of micro-behaviours, mental shortcuts, habits, and cognitive systems.
•Getting to the truth: using behavioural forensic techniques to maximise full and honest disclosure – in order to understand what is happening in a way others cannot.
•Separating signals from noise: finding and using those hard-to-find insights from the scientific evidence that give you the confidence to state: ‘this is the psychology at work here’.

Module 2: Designing Like a Behavioural Scientist

Using proven tools to design nudges (and other techniques) that actually change behaviour – not the latest eye-catching fad

•Grounding ideas in the science: making practical use of the best available tools and frameworks that we have made the best experiences with – not complex academic theory or lists of seemingly random cognitive biases.
•Starter packs of evidence-based behavioural techniques: equipping you with concise collections of the concrete behavioural strategies – going beyond the obvious to give you those that we have delivered the most impact with.
•Fitting this into your ways of working: tools for you to apply these tools and techniques to your real work and teams, such as template Miro boards for structured project planning and brainstorming. These adapt to your existing ways of working, rather than add needless complexity.

The Behavioural Science Company MODULE 2: DESIGNING LIKE A BEHAVIOURAL SCIENTIST
The Behavioural Science Company MODULE 3: DEPLOYING LIKE A BEHAVIOURAL SCIENTIST
Module 3: Deploying Like a Behavioural Scientist

Using what you have learned to make a measurable impact in the real-world and get buy-in from your stakeholders

•Creating and measuring impact: giving pragmatic piloting and measurement techniques that will enable you to show real, measurable impact in your organisation – especially when operational and technical complexity makes this easier said than done.
•’Selling’ the case internally: helping you to get your key stakeholders’ buy-in and cut through the typical resistances to get your designs live in complex organisations.
•Integrating behavioural science: for organisations where behavioural science could or should be integrated with related approaches and skills such as CX, UX, change management and so on, we will help you avoid common pitfalls and simplify rather than create complexity in messy business contexts.

Module 4: The Tech of a Behavioural Scientist

How to leverage latest technologies, frameworks and techniques to maximise your effectiveness as a behavioural scientist.

•LLMs and other AI tools: showing you where AI can be really effective in taking your behavioural science practice to the next level, and where it is not worth your time. AI is evolving rapidly – this is to help you stay a step ahead.
•Scientific evidence: how to navigate the scientific evidence, including how to proceed when you’re working on a case for which there is seemingly little evidence – using creative techniques like lateral category analysis.
•Behavioural science frameworks: for those who want a deeper dive into the science, we help you to join the dots between the many models such as COM-B, B-MAP, EAST, the theoretical domains framework, taxonomy of behaviour change techniques, and the Behaviour Change Wheel.

The Behavioural Science Company MODULE 4: THE TECH OF A BEHAVIOURAL SCIENTIST
The Behavioural Science Company MODULE 5: TRAIN THE TRAINER
Module 5: Train the Trainer

Packaging everything up so you can train your colleagues in behavioural science, including presentation scripts, menus of insightful case studies, and activities for workshops.

•An end-to-end behavioural creation methodology: everything you need to lead your own series of behavioural science workshops and sessions, including top tips, templates, and cheat sheets.
•Fitting the methodology to how your business operates: so that behavioural science adds value instead of overcomplicates – which cuts the need to pay expensive consultants for their ‘proprietary’ frameworks and models.
